    Smokers Quit Helpline

    Helpline Referral Options

The California Smokers’ Helpline offers busy health professionals several proactive, online options for securely referring their patients and clients who smoke to the Helpline’s free, evidence-based telephone counseling services.

Proactive provider referral results in a higher quitline participation rate (30-40%) than simple advice to quit (3-4%) [i] And, as a designated Specialized Registry, the Helpline may help eligible health professionals meet reporting standards such as Meaningful Use (MU), MACRA, MIPS and Joint Commission tobacco measures.
